We are a 100% italian firm, located in Verona, Italy, working in the field of renewable energies, with particular regard to Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) electric power generation systems , which have several applications in the efficient conversion of waste heat and low-temperature heat into electricity. We are not just system integrator, as we design and build ourselves the special turbines which are the core of our systems.

ULH-Series Modules

50ULH-lato-monitor 720x405The ULH Series energy production modules are ORC systems working on hot water (T≥93°C) and capable of outputting from 30 to 50 kWE of electricity into the grid with a thermal power input of 350 to 550 kWT. Compact, efficient and capable of working under partial loads, they finds their ideal place in applications such as waste heat recovery from engines and industrial processes, small-scale geothermal and solar thermal power generation.

ULH+ Series Modules

ULH PlusThe ULH Plus series systems by Zuccato Energia are ORC modules using hot water (≥95°C) as a vector fluid to produce 200 to 300 kWE by exploiting thermal sources having 2500 to 3600 kWT of thermal power. This makes them ideal for those applications where thermal energy is abundant but temperature is low, such as large-scale waste heat recovery or geothermal applications.

LT-Series Modules

Compact and powerful, they are capable of working under partial loads and represent the ideal solution for small scale or residential power plants (e.g. biogas-fueled or biomass-fueled plants).

CHP Series Modules

Posizione Veritas CDO MestreThe client who commissioned this plant - Veritas SpA - is the largest multiutility company in Veneto, as well as one of the largest in Italy.
Its name, meaning "truth" in Latin, is an acronym for "V eneziana Energia Risorse Idriche Territorio Ambiente Servizi" (Venetian Energy, Water Resources, Territory, and Environmental Services). It is a fully public company, owned by a consortium whose shareholders are the Venice municipality and fifty-odd municipalities of the Venice hinterland.  Its core business is to supply environmental services, water and power to Venice and all of its shareholding municipalities.

In its directional and operational center in Mestre (near Venice) two biomass-fueled boilers generate a total thermal power around 1,3 MWT which may be used for heating and sanitary uses as well as for power generation through two Turbec hot-air turbines which can produce up to 160 kWE.

The system supplied by Zuccato Energia - a standard ZE-50-ULH Low Temperature Organic Rankine Cycle module - adds a further 50 kWE to the overall grid output of the aforementioned system, raising the total power output to 210 kWE and increasing overall power output by 30% with respect to the "naked" system by recovering waste heat from the cooling jackets of the hot-air turbines. Alternatively, when the turbines are not in use, it produces the same 50 kWE by getting directly connected to the biomass-fed boilers by the control system. The compactness of the standard skid-mounted system we supplied made it possible to install it in a technical space (a steel-grating mezzanine) within the same building which hosts boilers and turbines.

All produced electric power goes into the national distribution grid and contributes, together with a photovoltaic system, to make the Mestre complex entirely self-sufficient from the energy standpoint. Thermal energy is used to heat - through a small district-heating network - the different buildings which make up the  directional and operational complex.

The boilers are fueled by wood chips obtained from forest cleaning and mowing. As all biomass-fueled sysems, this plant is CO2-neutral, as the CO2 released by combustion is equivalent to that captured by the plants during their growth.
